• DO YOU NEED TO BE A MEMBER TO RENT A BENCH?
    • No, we offer daily and weekly rentals, but all makers must take The Jewelers Guild entrance course. Visit our Become a member tab for more information.
  • DO I HAVE TO SIGN A LEASE TO BECOME A MEMBER?
    • Yes, for members the lease is one year. See the “Members benefits drop down.
  • WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO WORK AT THE GUILD?
    • Creativity and talent. The only thing you will need will be hand tools and any special items that make your bench yours. It so easy, walk in and the workshop is open and ready for you!
  • DO I NEED ANY SALES TAX PERMITS OR LICENSE?
    • Any items that are displayed and sold at The Jewelers Guild are sold under the auspices of The Jewelers Guild and all licenses and applicable taxes are part of your membership.
    • Any licenses, and permits for sales and business conducted outside of The Jewelers Guild are your responsibility. We can help in acquiring the permits and licence for those transactions.
  • DO I NEED INSURANCE?
    • The Jewelers Guild is responsible for insuring your tools, products and materials as well as the entire building. Any personal transactions between you and your clients is your responsibility and therefore you need personal business insurance.
  • WHAT IF I HAVE A CLIENT THAT WANTS TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH ME?
    • As a member of The Jewelers Guild you may use the sales floor consultation desk for your clients whenever available. Meet with suppliers and vendors at one of theย private offices.
  • WHEN CAN I WORK AT THE WORKSHOP?
    • You set your own schedule. Walk in and start working! The workshop hours are 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. Work whenever, as much or as little as you like at your convenience.
  • CAN I SHARE THE SPACE?
    • No, you may not sublease or share a bench.
  • WHAT PRODUCTS MAY I SELL?
    • You may sell only jewelry and metalsmith products made by you at The Jewelers Guild or made by you at a personal studio. Any other artwork by you may be considered for sale by The Jewelers Guild.
  • MAY I WORK AT THE RETAIL STORE?
    • Yes, as a member you are required to work five days a month at the store and one weekend every 60 days.
  • MAY I TEACH A WORKSHOP OR CLASS?
    • Yes, we encourage that! As a member you may have the opportunity to teach a workshop or class. You create a curriculumย set up the dates and times and we will do the rest.
